  5. Virginia Woman Arrested Following I-12 Traffic Stop

    This morning shortly after 6:00 am, troopers assigned to the Louisiana State Police Criminal Patrols Unit stopped a 2010 Dodge Avenger for a traffic violation while traveling on Interstate 12 at milepost #57 in St. Tammany Parish.  Upon interviewing the driver, Tasharian Riddick (B/F age 23) of Norfolk, VA, troopers noticed signs of nervousness and asked for consent to search the vehicle.  After request to search the vehicle was denied by Riddick, troopers utilized a narcotic detecting K-9 which alerted to the odor of narcotics.  A search of the vehicle resulted in the discovery of 81 pounds of Marijuana found in the trunk.   
Riddick was taken into custody and charged with Possession with Intent to Distribute Marijuana and Improper Lane Use.  She was booked without incident at the St. Tammany Parish Jail in Covington.
