    Through the cooperative effort of several law enforcement agencies, a convicted sex offender and fugitive rapist was taken into custody along Interstate 12 following a traffic stop earlier this afternoon.  The multi-state search for the suspected fugitive included the Hernando County, FL Sheriff's Office, the United States Marshals Service Tampa and New Orleans office, the USMS Gulf Coast Fugitive Task Force, and the Louisiana State Police.
