Baltimore's Inner Harbor is one of the city's most identifiable areas. The revitalization effort there that began in the 1950s has become a model for other waterfront areas across the United States. Millions of dollars of government funds have been put into developing the area into one of the region's premiere tourist destinations. Today the Inner Harbor is home to the Baltimore Convention Center, National Aquarium, Maryland Science Center, World Trade Center and its observation deck, Top of the World, Fort McHenry, the Baltimore Maritime Museum and the USS Constellation.
