  1. Deadly Warehouse Blaze on Blighted 9th Ward Property

    An abandoned warehouse near the railroad tracks in the Upper 9th Ward was home to many of our homeless in New Orleans.  However, that "home" turned into a deadly inferno when a warming fire burned out of control, killing 8 people and 2 dogs who were trapped inside.  The victims- thought to be squatters, were using the warehouse as shelter from the frigid cold.
