  11. Rehabilitated Sea Turtles Now Living At Audubon Aquarium

    More than a hundred sea turtles are recovering after being rescued from the oily gulf waters.  And now you have a chance to see them at the Audubon Aquarium.
Alive and well, these four Kemp's Ridley sea turtles, once covered head to tail in oil, are now happy, healthy and hanging out at the aquarium.
Cleaning each turtle takes a lot of effort and weeks of nursing them back to health.  &quot;A cleaning of Dawn with toothbrushes. We have to clean their eyes their mouths, give them antibiotics, fluids", says Meghan Calhoun from the Audubon Institute.
Calhoun also says until the Gulf is oil free and safe, these guys will call the aquarium home.  
And it's important we keep these guys safe.  The Kemp's Ridley turtles are the most endangered sea turtle species in the world.
