  3. Owner Of Pain Management Clinics Sentenced To Over 12 Years Imprisonment For Drug Trafficking Conspiracy

    <span lang=&quot;en-us"><strong>CANDACE WILSON,</strong></span><span lang="en-us">&nbsp;</span><span lang="en-us"> age 38, a  resident of Chalmette, Louisiana, was sentenced yesterday in federal court by U.  S. District Judge Mary Ann Vial Lemmon to over twelve years (151 months)  imprisonment for conspiracy to distribute and dispense controlled substances,  conspiracy to commit health care fraud, and conspiracy to commit money  laundering, announced U.S. Attorney Jim Letten.&nbsp; In addition, Judge Lemmon  ordered that</span><span lang="en-us"><strong> WILSON</strong></span><span lang="en-us"> pay $82,072.18  restitution to the Louisiana Medicaid Program and be placed on three (3) years  of supervised release following the term of imprisonment, during which time the  defendant will be under federal supervision and risks an additional term of  imprisonment should she violate any terms of her supervised release.&nbsp;&nbsp; </span>

  15. Medicaid Fraud Control Unit Returns Over $44 Million To State And Federal Medicaid Program

    The Louisiana Attorney General's Office Medicaid Fraud Control Unit (MFCU) returned $44,919,842.78 during fiscal year 09-10 to the state and federal Medicaid Program, announced Attorney General Buddy Caldwell. This money was returned as a result of the detection of fraudulent submissions for payment to the Medicaid Program, as well as the State's participation in various multi-state settlements such as the Pfizer settlement in which Louisiana received over $8.5 million.  Fiscal year 09-10 is from July 1, 2009 through June 30, 2010.
