  11. One-Alarm at 1308-1310 Bartholomew St.

    Tuesday, February 22, 2011, at 3:11 in the afternoon, the New Orleans Fire  Department (NOFD) responded to a 911 call reporting a fire in a one-story  shotgun double located at 1308-1310  Bartholomew St. Fire crews arrived on the scene of  this <strong>unoccupied</strong> dwelling within  five minutes, finding heavy flames coming from the rear of the building. During  the fire the building suffered a partial collapse with firefighters inside,  fortunately no one was injured. Six units carrying approximately 20 NOFD  personnel responded to the fire bringing it under control at 3:26 p.m. The cause  of the fire at this unoccupied dwelling with no working utilities is currently  under investigation.

  21. Three Alarm Fire 3300 Canal Street

    On Monday, September 06, 2010, at 3:35 a.m. the New Orleans Fire Department received a 911 call to 3300 Canal Street.  
Fire fighters reported heavy smoke coming from the roof of the building and an injured civilian was transported to the hospital with minor cuts to hand and forearm.  
The two-story wood frame office building was vacant and under renovation with operating electricity.  A third alarm was struck due to trapped fire in the attic space and fire fighters getting fatigued.  Four fire fighters were treated for minor injuries and remained on duty.  RTA and American Red Cross were on the scene to assist in rehab of first responders.  The fire was placed under control at 8:13 a.m., and is currently under investigation.
