  3. NOPD's Narcotics and Task Force Units Investigated 2,027 Complaints, Made 51 Felony Cases and Confiscated 14 Guns

    In one week, the New Orleans Police Department’s Narcotics and Task Force Units  investigated approximately 2,027 complaints.   As a result the NOPD’s Task Force Units, they conducted 8 Search  Warrants, investigated 51 Felony cases, conducted 865 Vehicle Checks and issued  423 citations.  They made 56 Narcotics  cases, confiscated 14 guns, and numerous amounts of Crack, Marijuana, Crack  Cocaine, Powder Cocaine, and Heroin. These results are from January 16, 2011  thru January 22, 2011.

  5. Man Booked With Manslaughter And Two Counts Of Negligent Injury In Fatality And Narcotics Violations

    Fatality Investigator Mike Baldassaro booked 22-year-old Edward Augustine with Manslaughter, Two counts of Negligent Injury and Narcotics Violations in the Fatality that left a 18-year-old female dead, a 18-year-old female in critical condition and a third 18-year-old female in stable condition.  The names of the victims are being withheld pending the notification of family members.  The accident occurred at approximately 12:00 A.M., at the intersection of Freret and Milan Streets.
