FAYETTEVILLE, AR -
Senior right hander Louis Coleman tossed a two hit shutout to give LSU a 5-0 win and split of Saturday's doubleheader at Arkansas. Arkansas won the first of two nine inning games 11-4.
LSU is 35-13 overall and 15-8 in the SEC. The Tigers are tied with Ole Miss and Florida for the best record in Southeastern Conference.
Coleman's effort was the first complete game shutout by an LSU pitcher in four years. On May 1st, 2005, Greg Smith blanked Vanderbilt 3-0 in Nashville. Coleman allowed a hit in the second inning, then retired 19 straight hitters by allowing a pinch hit double to Jacob House.
LSU and Arkansas conclude their series with a 1 pm game Sunday.
