Forget tailgating, most of us Who Dat's who can't get to Seattle will be watching the Saints indoors. That means playoff parties, and who better to give us tips on party favorites than the Author of "Da Cajn Critter" Pam Lyles. ABC26 News Reporter Vanessa Bolano has more.

Our boys have taken us to the playoffs, and now were showing you how to host a saint-sational playoff party.

"The trick is really, really to make to make your life simple so you can watch the game and you can enjoy your friends," says Pam Lyles, Author of "Da Cajn Critter."

Lyles showed ABC26 what she's cooking up Saturday. It includes lots of finger food that can be prepared in advance.

"Everything here that you see can be made a day in advance with the exception of putting the shrimp dip on top of the cucumber."

Think black and gold, and have fun with your dishes. Pam has cooked up creative Rocky Road Squares surrounded by Lemon Squares, and plated them in a way that spells "Who Dat."

"I made double batches of them, cut them into squares, took a tray and lined it with some foils and then created the letters "Who Dat" and filled it in with the Rocky Road Squares."

Pam's also serving cucumbers topped with shrimp dip, a salad, chocolate chip cookies, and "This is real cute with black olives and baby corn, which is black and gold."

Having a heavier dish that gives your guests more of a meal is also a good idea. Lyles is serving up Baked Seahawk Potato Soup, and yes, she cooked it a day in advance.

For decorations, think black and gold and fleur de lis. You'd be surprised at how much you may already have thanks to Mardi Gras and trips to the Dome.

Pam says everything she's serving is cooked using simple ingredients you can find at your favorite grocery store. Nothing is fancy, and most of the stuff is rather inexpensive.

Details to Pam's recipes can be found inside her book "Da Cajn Critter."
