St. Charles Catholic Comets recognized for first state championship

LAPLACE, LA—

Congratulations to the St. Charles Comets for winning the school's first ever state title!

The Comets went undefeated in the 2011 season, and in the Superdome the Comets defeated the Amite High School Warriors 9 to 8 in the class 3A state championship game.

Tuesday morning on the St. Charles Catholic campus Smoothie King – a proud sponsor of Friday Night Football - presented t-shirts, goodies and the Smooth Team of the Year trophy to the Comets.

In addition, the Allstate Sugar Bowl – another proud sponsor of FNF - presented head coach Frank Monica with the Allstate Sugar Bowl Coach of the Year award.

The Comets of St. Charles Catholic: a perfect 15-0 on Friday Night Football, state champions and now 2011 Smoothie King Team of the Year.
