Brees Sits As Saints Fall at Tennessee

27-24 loss to Titans ends Saints preseason

Tennessee's Alvin Pearman ran 5 yards for a touchdown with 3:18 left as the Titans beat the Saints 27-24 Thursday night in the preseason finale for both teams.

Saints quarterback Drew Brees and running back Reggie Bush were among a host of Saints veterans that did not play. Said Bush, "Everyone around this team understands the position that we're in, understands that we a special group here and understands that we have to protect it at all costs."

Saints free agent running back Chris Ivory left the game in the first quarter with a knee injury.

Saints quarterback Chase Daniel, battling for the backup quarterback spot, threw a 35 yard fourth quarter touchdown pass to Adrian Arrington.

The Saints host the Vikings Thursday night in the kickoff of the NFL season.
