The Saints rediscovered their run game, much to the chagrin of the Tampa Bay Bucs.New Orleans rushed for 212 yards, 158 from rookie Chris Ivory as the Saints beat the Bucs 31-6. With the win, the Saints are now 4-2, tied with four other clubs for the best record in the NFC.
The Saints and Ivory set the tone for the game on their first play from scrimmage. Ivory cut back and scampered down the left sideline for 18 yards. 6 plays later, Drew Brees threw a 41 yard touchdown pass to Lance Moore, who got behind Tampa Bay cornerback Aqib Talib.
Brees then tossed a 42 yard touchdown pass to Robert Meachem on the third play of the second quarter.
Brees threw his third touchdown pass in the third quarter, 4 yards to Heath Evans. Ladell Betts scored on a 1 yard run in the fourth quarter.
Brees completed 21 of 32 passes for 263 yards.
The Saints held the Bucs to 277 total yards.
