Pierre Thomas will not be a member of the New Orleans Saints next season.
Sunday, Fox NFL reporter Jay Glazer said that Sean Payton was frustrated with the lack of progress as Thomas rehabs an ankle injury.
Wonder where Glazer got that info? Well, Glazer is a premium member of the FoS club: that is Friends of Sean.
So, we ask, why criticize Pierre Thomas? After all he's been roundly lauded by the Saints for being a great story -- a hard working free agent who earned a starting job by being a productive, solid citizen.
Pierre Thomas didn't change, he isn't suddenly a bad egg. What happened was this: Payton was very unhappy that Thomas skipped off season workouts, only reporting for mandatory minicamps.
Pierre Thomas thinks he is underpaid, and this off season, made a stand for a new contract.
And, if Pierre Thomas can't play, I believe him. After all, this is the young man who once played the season finale against the Bears with broken ribs.
So, when Pierre returns sometime this season -- enjoy his performance. He may soon by wearing other NFL garb.
