About Brothers & Sisters

"Brothers & Sisters" heads into its fifth season as executive producers Ken Olin, Greg Berlanti and David Marshall Grant continue to follow the California-based Walker family through the complicated maze of American life today. The hit one-hour drama revolves around a collection of enmeshed and somewhat damaged adult siblings and their strong but passionately devoted mother, Nora Walker (Oscar and Emmy Award winner Sally Field). The Walkers' lives have not been without challengeĀ… Romance, parenting, illness, divorce, infidelity, addiction, war and even death have pushed them to the limit. But they continue to work toward living their lives as individuals, while loving each other unconditionally and trying to maintain some semblance of normalcy. In Season Five, we revisit the Walkers one year after a tragic auto accident that took the life of one of their own. The passage of time is this family's remedy after a life altering lossĀ… and time has changed them.

Eldest sibling Sarah (Emmy Award nominee Rachel Griffiths) is a divorced mother of two who has finally allowed herself to fully experience real love again with Frenchman Luc Laurent (Gilles Marini), while searching for a responsible way to use the funds from the sale of Narrow Lake. The Walkers have learned to coexist with William's lifelong mistress, Holly Harper (Emmy Award winner Patricia Wettig), who is suffering from a memory loss as a result of the accident. Kevin (Matthew Rhys) is an openly gay lawyer who has found his soul mate and spouse in compassionate, loving, chef Scotty Wandell (Luke Macfarlane), whose dream of owning a restaurant has finally come true. Together they've decided to take the next step to expand their family, continuing to explore the maze of surrogacy and considering fostering a troubled teen. The baby of the family, Justin (Dave Annable), has returned from his third tour at war a man; but having fought his way through trauma and addiction, he now faces divorce. Kitty (Calista Flockhart) is confronted with the greatest challenge of all, dealing with overwhelming grief and loss, and finding joy in life again as a widowed mother to Evan. Nora's brother and uncle to the Walker children, Saul Holden (Ron Rifkin), has finally chosen to live his own life, exploring his feelings as a now openly gay man and living with the repercussions of a secret life lived long ago. And Tommy has moved to Seattle to reconnect with his young daughter. Through all this turmoil, Nora Walker (Field) is the one who holds the family together, while at the same time trying to reinvent herself.
