Ingredients
1 large green tomato
1 egg
1 cup of Italian bread crumbs
cooking oil
grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
Ranch dressing (optional)
Directions
Pour enough cooking oil into a skillet to float the tomatoes, then, turn burner to medium high to begin heating the oil.
Meanwhile .
1. Rinse, then, slice the tomato to your desired thickness.
2. Break the egg in a bowl, then, beat thoroughly.
3. Pour 1 cup of bread crumbs into a gallon Zip Lock bag.
4. Dip the tomato slices into the egg wash.
5. Now, place the tomato slices in the Zip lock, seal the bag, then, shake well to evenly batter the slices.
6. When the cooking oil is heated, place the tomato slices in the skillet one at a time.
7. Brown one side of the tomato, then, gently flip the slices to brown the other side.
8. Place the fried tomato slices on a platter (generously lined with paper towels to absorb excess oil.)
9. (Optional) Sprinkle Parmesan cheese on the hot slices and/or plate tomato slices and pour ranch dressing over each slice.
