He covered breaking news and traffic on television in his hometown of Miami while also anchoring news for several South Florida radio stations.

Fast-paced, breaking stories and spot news became a specialty for Sheldon, who worked mornings and evenings in his previous two markets.

He launched his career in Orlando after graduating from the University of Central Florida. It was there Sheldon spent his days reporting and anchoring news and sports for a National Public Radio affiliate and his nights covering the Orlando Magic both for radio and local TV outlets.

Broadcasting has been Sheldon's passion for as long as he can remember. He says he learned to ad lib early, mimicking the voices of Bob Costas and Dick Stockton while calling NBA games from his living room as a kid.

His interest in covering news intensified after the September 11th attacks.

Since coming to New Orleans in July of 2006, Sheldon says he's worked to enjoy the "city's soul", sampling its restaurants and loving its festivals and friendly people.
