The Super Bowl victory has been a huge win for French Quarter businesses. Corey Moe, employee at Jesters Daiquiri Shop explains, "It was definitely a really really good night as far as business wise, amount of money."

Super Bowl Sunday, business owners expected to make a lot of money, but no one could predict just how much the partiers were willing to spend. "We actually track each years sales and in comparison to this first Sunday in Mardi Gras weekend compared to last year, we did about ten times more in business" Moe says.

It's pretty much the same story at the Dixie Shirt Store. LeAnn Doke says, "We sold out of all of our Saints stuff, this is where we keep our Saints shirts folded, and they're gone, we have nothing left."

Locals who don't typically come to the French Quarter can be thanked for some of those sales but tourists came to New Orleans, ready and willing to shell out some cash. George Parks, visiting from Texas says, "I bought a grandfather clock and lots and lots of liquor, daiquiris to boot."

The next step for these business owners is to gear up for this weekend. "I've been replenishing all of our merchandise and folding shirts and putting them back so that people can buy more" Doke says.

Because they say this is a sign that New Orleans is finally back open for business. Moe explains, "The last four years the economy going down and all the things going on its kinda been a really big hit on their business so having things like this coming to town really kinda gives them hope that we can come back and get business rolling again."
