TICKFAW, La.—
A Tangipahoa Parish woman died early Thursday in a two-vehicle accident on Interstate 55 near Tickfaw.Authorities say 23-year-old Lacey Ficklin, of Greensburg, died at the scene after the Jeep she was driving struck a car being driven by 22-year-old Alex Anderson of Independence.
After impact, state police say the Jeep traveled off the road and hit a large pine tree about 2:10 a.m.
Ficklin was wearing her seat belt, and authorities say alcohol and drug use were not suspected in the crash. Still, blood was obtained from both drivers for analysis.
Anderson and his passenger, Jennifer Bailey of Independence, were not injured.
