BREAKING:Deputy In Critical Condition After Shooting

MONTEGUT, La.—

Terrebonne Parish Sheriff Vernon Bourgeois says a deputy is in critical condition after being shot by a teenager near the Montegut post office.

Bourgeois said deputy Donald Bourg was investigating reports of a suspicious person Tuesday night when he was shot in the left shoulder and leg.

Sheriff's Maj. Malcolm Wolfe said deputies had been searching for the 18-year-old suspect, who is suspected of robbing a business.

Bourg is being treated at Terrebonne General Medical Center.
