AMITE, La.—
A Tangipahoa Parish jury has convicted a New Orleans man of killing a Hammond man by stabbing him 14 times and hitting him on the head with a hammer 17 times.The jury of four men and eight women received the second-degree murder case at 6:40 p.m. Wednesday in the 21st Judicial District Courthouse in Amite and returned with the verdict about 9:40 p.m.
District Judge Brenda Bedsole Ricks set sentencing for Nov. 3.
Forty-eight-year-old Roderick Dangerfield was tried for killing25-year-old Cordell McMorris during a fight in Hammond on Feb. 23, 2004.
