Pictures: Lafourche Parish Confident Levees Can Handle Morganza Waters
Lafourche Parish Emergency officials are monitoring levels of water, as they anticipate levels rising with the opening of Morganza Floodway. They believe their parish levees will be able to withstand any rising water. They are encouraging resident in the north region to make plans, just in case. A state of emergency is in effect, and they estimate the waters to come this weekend. Jefferson Parish is helping Lafourche Parish with inflatable levees, if they are needed.

Lafourche Parish Prepares for Morganza Spillway waters
Lafourche Parish is in a state of emergency, anticipating waters from the opening of Morganza Spillway to reach the northern part of parish by this weekend. Emergency officials are confident in the parish's non-federal levees withstanding the extra water. Jefferson Parish sent inflatable levees/ Tiger Dams, in case they are needed.
