Pictures: Dallas Tailgaters Taste Fresh Seafood
Some Saints and Cowboys fans got a surprise taste of fresh Louisiana seafood in Dallas on Thanksgiving Day. A tailgate promoted Plaquemines Parish seafood outside Cowboys Stadium in Dallas for the Saints game. Volunteers cooked and served seafood so people would know firsthand that Louisiana???s seafood is as safe and delicious as ever. "People will eat anything that???s free. If they like it, they???ll buy it. The best way to promote our seafood is to let people taste it," said Plaquemines Parish President Billy Nungesser. Nungesser said he hopes to help organize more trips in the future to bring Louisiana seafood across the country. Saints and Cowboys fans enjoyed boiled shrimp, barbequed crabs, raw oysters, and crab cakes at the Plaquemines Parish tailgate. Plaquemines Parish is one of the leading seafood producers in Louisiana each year and was heavily impacted by the BP Oil Spill.
