Pedestrian Killed Crossing Airline Highway
KENNER - On November 19, 2009, at 6:10 pm., Kenner police responded to a pedestrian struck by a vehicle on Airline Highway. The pedestrian, who is not being identified until family members are notified, was pronounced dead on the scene.

An investigation revealed the pedestrian was crossing Airline Highway at Curtis Avenue when he was struck by a vehicle traveling east on Airline Highway. There was no cross walk where the pedestrian was attempting to cross. The driver of the vehicle did not appear to be intoxicated and/or speeding.

The eastbound lanes on Airline Highway were closed and traffic was diverted onto Alliance Avenue while the fatality was investigated. The eastbound lanes on Airline Highway were opened at 7:52 pm.
