NEW ORLEANS—
A music producer and his girlfriend say they were afraid for their lives last week during a business meeting-turned-brazen armed-robbery."Sir" Stephen Breaux, a local producer who's worked with the likes of B.G. and the Jonas Brothers, admitted to making a bone-headed mistake when he invited over a man claiming to be the manager of an unknown rap group.
The producer says Ryan Moret was that man looking to buy beats for rap songs.
According to Breaux, during their initial meeting, Moret spotted the producer's cash-filled safe then came back to the Uptown home two days later with gun in-hand and accompanied by two other armed men.
The trio then duct taped, roughed-up and robbed the couple of between $10 and $15-thousand dollars, says Breaux. The incident happened Tuesday of last week.
After Breaux and his girlfriend shook free of the tape, he called 9-1-1.
Moret was arrested and charged with armed robbery a day later, but his accomplices are at-large.
