Two Arrests Made In Last Night's Lafourche Murder
Tonight two men are in the Lafourche Parish Detention Center charged with the murder of 18-year old Ronnie Brown of Thibodaux.

Brown (B/M, 8/23/90, of 454 Paula Drive (address correction from earlier release) was found shot several times at the intersection of Karla and Amanda Drives around 1:30 a.m. Wednesday morning. Throughout the day, detectives pursued leads which eventually led them to Oliver Duncan (B/M, DOB 8/2/1970, 467 Karla Drive, Thibodaux) and Mekell Jene Tackno (B/M, DOB 4/11/1990, 1237 Narrow St., Thibodaux).

Mr. Duncan is charged tonight with Principle to Second Degree Murder and is being held on $500,000.00 (half million dollar) bond. After being advised of his rights, Duncan admitted that he provided, and later hid, the gun used in the murder.

The Sheriff's Office wishes to acknowledge the NAACP's assistance in solving this crime. A representative of the organization brought Mekell Tackno to detectives for questioning. Tackno was advised of his rights and admitted killing Brown. Tackno said Mr. Brown had approached him in a lewd and lascivious manner and that he (Tackno), quote, "had enough". Tackno admitted shooting Brown several times with a gun he had acquired from Duncan. Tackno is being held tonight on $1,000,000.00 (one million dollars) bond.
