MARRERO -
Just after 7:30 p.m. Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Officers responded to a hit-and-run accident involving a motorcyclist at the intersection of Nicholson Place and Fourth Street in Marrero.
Traffic fatality officer George Gutierrez's investigation revealed the driver of a 1992 Harley Davidson M/C, identified as Billy Bell, W/M, 54, of Saddler Rd in Marrero believed to be traveling Eastbound on Fourth Street was struck by a 1995 Chevy pick-up driven by an unknown driver turning South onto Nicholson. After impact the pick-up was seen driving away..
The victim was pronounced dead on the scene.
A description of the suspect vehicle was broadcast and within minutes the Chevy pickup was found unoccupied in 700 block of Jung Blvd in Marrero.
