JEFFERSON PARISH—
Sheriff Newell Normand reports, this morning around 3:47 AM our officers were dispatched to 4448 Orleans Avenue in Jefferson after a male caller reported to our 911 Center that his neighbor had been shot.First responding officers located the victim, identified as Joseph Boudoin, W/M, 45, of 4450 Orleans Ave. who told the officers that he and his friend were shot while driving in the area of Newman and Jefferson Hwy. Boudoin advised his friend was still in the vehicle near the convenience store at Newman & Jefferson Hwy. Boudoin was transported to University Hospital with what appears to be a non-life threatening gunshot wound.
Additional units were dispatched to Jeff & Newman where they located the second victim, lying inside of a dark colored pick-up truck suffering from a gunshot wound to the head. He is only being identified at this time as a W/M, 28 believed to be from New Orleans. Victim number two was also transported to University Hospital where he was pronounced upon arrival.
Our homicide investigators interviewed Joseph Bowdoin who reported that both he was at a lounge in Metairie near the intersection of North Woodlawn Drive and Airline Drive when he became involved in a dispute with a male subject in the parking lot. Boudoin continued by saying a friend of his arrived at the lounge and offered him a ride home. While enroute to his residence, Boudoin reported as they turned onto Jefferson Hwy. from Central Avenue he heard gunshots resulting in both he and his friend being shot. Boudoin could not provide investigators with any information on who the shooter was or a vehicle description.
