The city's economy is getting a nice jolt thanks to thousands of teenagers. They're in town for the National Lutheran Youth Gathering.

We're talking about 23,000 teens. They're rolling up their sleeves to help with the recovery. And they're filling up our hotels and restaurants helping with the economy.

This morning in Broadmoor, a big group in their bright green fixed up a church and youth center damaged by Katrina. It's just one of the many projects the teens have worked on during their four day visit.

Kansas visitor Brian Junge says, "we're painting this church to help them recover so they can outreach to the community."

Jennifer Day, with the New Orleans Convention and Visitors Bureau says, "not only is there an obvious economic benefit thousands of hotel rooms, countless meals consumed, souvenirs being bought but these youth are doing something special they're rolling up their sleeves and working on over 100 different projects."

42 hotels are booked because of this group. They leave tomorrow.
