Eleven Louisiana chefs participated in the third annual Louisiana Seafood Cook-Off hosted by the Louisiana Seafood Board Saturday at the New Orleans Food and Wine Experience at the Superdome.The winning chef, Chris Lusk, the executive chef at Cafe Adelaide, was crowned the "King of Louisiana Seafood," and will represent Louisiana in the seventh annual Great American Seafood Cook-Off on August 7. The cook-off is the nation's most prestigious seafood competition showcasing domestic, sustainable seafood.
New Orleans' own Diana Chauvin of La Thai Uptown came in second place. She is the first female chef competitor ever in the competition.
Chef Lusk's winning dish was a Louisiana Shrimp and Crab Noodle Bowl. Chauvin challenged for first place with a Louisiana Seafood with Spicy Coconut Green Curry dish.
