NEW ORLEANS—
Members of the New Orleans Police Department are investigating the apparent shooting death of a 25-year-old local male whose name is being withheld pending notification of family members. The offense occurred approximately 9:25 P.M., in the 8000 block of Dwyer Road.According to investigators, Seventh District officers responded to a call of a "male down" and upon their arrival, found the victim lying on the sidewalk with multiple gunshot wound to the body. Emergency Medical Paramedics arrived on the scene and pronounced the victim dead.
The Coroner's Office arrived, conducted their investigation and found narcotics in the victim's possession.
Currently, investigators are in the process of gathering evidence and information to identify the person(s) involved in this incident, as well as a motive. Homicide Detective Richard Chambers is in charge of the investigation.
