Toddler Drowns in Violet Swimming Pool

VIOLET—
2-year-old boy from Meraux, name being withheld pending notification of family, goes to a home in Violet to visit and ends up drowning in swimming pool. Address is 6008 Ridgewood Dr in the Oak Ridge Subdivision.

The boy, along with another child, was near the pool eating popsicles with no adult supervision. A mesh fence was the only thing separating the pool and the kids. Incident may have happened shortly before 11:20a. By 12:30, the child was pronounced dead at Tulane.
