Two proposed state laws would protect homeowners who make damage claims about corrosive Chinese drywall.

Under the measures, insurance companies would not be allowed to cancel policies or raise rates on those who make claims.

Louisiana homeowners are among 3,000 nationwide complaining of damage from the product.
