MARRERO, La. -
Jefferson Parish sheriff's deputies are investigation a shooting in Marrero that left a woman dead and a man wounded.
Deputies tell The Times Picayune that three different types of guns were fired at the two victims about 11 p.m. Tuesday.
Col. John Fortunato said deputies responding to a 911 call about the gunfire found 20-year-old Danny Young hit several times in the lower back. Paramedics took him to Interim LSU Public Hospital, where he received treatment for non-life threatening injuries.
A 19-year-old woman was found lying in the back seat of a car parked in front of a home. Deputies say she had been shot multiple times and died before paramedics could treat her.
