A 50-year-old Houma man has died after he was allegedly punched by another man in Terrebonne Parish. The suspect is believed to be the victim's estranged son.
The fight happened Oct. 11 near the Dulac Pontoon Bridge, according to The Courier newspaper of Houma.
Gregory Chaisson died Saturday, according to the Terrebonne Coroner's Office. The Sheriff's Office said Chaisson was injured when he fell and struck his head after being punched.
Twenty-year-old Matthew Dale Chaisson of Dulac, was booked with second-degree battery in the incident. He told detectives he believes Gregory Chaisson is his estranged father whom he hadn't seen in 13 years
Matthew Chaisson was being held at the Terrebonne Parish. Bond was set at $500,000.
