Kenner 17-Year-Old Arrested for Attempted 2nd Degree Murder
KENNER - On Wednesday, November 18, 2009, Steven Washington, 17, was arrested by members of the U.S. Marshall's Gulf Coast Task Force. Washington was charged by Kenner Police with the crimes of attempt second degree murder and aggravated burglary, in reference to an October 22, 2009, shooting that occurred in the 600 block of Compromise Street in Kenner.

On October 22, 2009, Washington and an unknown second suspect forced entry into a home located in the 600 block of Compromise Street. Both Washington and the unknown suspect produced handguns, demanded money, and then shot the resident at close range. The victim sustained three gunshot wounds to the upper torso. At the time of this press release Washington remains in the custody of the Jefferson Parish Correctional Center. Bond has not been set.
