While the waters from the Mississippi River are still high in lower St. Francisville, they are receding. 90 percent of the town is high and dry however, and town leaders hope tourists would return. They say people saw the images of flooding and canceled visits. They also welcome new visitors who come to see the water, but just wish they would stay awhile and visit plantations and bed and breakfasts'.
