Pictures: NOFD Close In Spirit to FDNY
NOFD is close to the New York City Fire Department. The two departments have been helping each other in the most tragic incidents in recent history, the 9/11 terror attacks and Hurricane Katrina. New Orleans fire fighters paid attention to their fellow firefighters cheering after word spread that Osama Bin Laden was dead. Many firefighters lost lives rushing into the Twin Towers that came down when jets crashed into them. New Orleans firefighters keep the memory alive with mementos, pictures and plaques. The agencies have not only helped each other, they have also exchanged gifts.

NOFD Close In Spirit to FDNY
New Orleans Fire Department and New York Fire Department(FDNY) have bond. The two departments have come to each others' aid after 9/11 and Hurricane Katrina. In New Orleans, the fire department treasures several gifts and mementos to remember. They also received help in rebuilding some of the fire stations from NY firefighters after Hurricane Katrina.
