Playground Destroyed By Katrina Restored
Jefferson Playground has a new gymnasium, stage, bleachers, and many other features for children. It recently reopened at the 5 year mark following its destruction by Hurricane Katrina. Jefferson Parish has been working with FEMA for the past few years for funding. FEMA paid most of the $3.3 million for the new playground.

On the 5 year anniversary of Katrina, the community of Jefferson is celebrating a new beginning with the opening of new Jefferson Playground. This indoor gymnasium is brand new, as well as the stage, bleachers and many other features.
