Pictures: Black Bears Seeking Higher Ground
Morganza Spillway is home to dozens to of Louisiana Black Bears that have been seeking dry land. That has put them in danger especially on some trestles where at least one bear was struck and killed by a train. State wildlife officials are trying to trap them and move them to safer areas.

Black Bears Near Morganza Spillway
Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries is busy trying to help Louisiana Black Bears that have been trying to find dry land now that the Morganza Spillway was opened. The bears have wandered into some dangerous train tracks. Wildlife officials are trying to catch the bears to move them to safer areas.
