There's a new and exciting way some local dermatologists and plastic surgeons are injecting fillers ... and some say it’s changing the face of fillers altogether! It’s called the cannula, and while it may look like your average, everyday needle, it’s not.
Dr. Mary Lupo says the cannula can be used to inject most fillers, except Sculptra, and she says using the cannula means less pain for the patient, less (sometime NO) bruising, and a lower chance of injuring a blood vessel or having any kind of vascular incident.
This blunt tip needle - that's how Dr. Lupo describes it - also means the filler can be safely injected closer to the eye area, and she says it also makes for an overall better filling experience for the entire face.
