Lose inches in just hours, and get the look of a Brazilian blowout at a fraction of the salon price! Tonight’s segment is all about helping you look and feel your best for those holiday parties, without expensive surgeries or downtime.
If you’ve put on a few extra pounds during the holidays and you’re having trouble squeezing into that little red dress, some women are doing weight loss body wraps to temporarily get rid of those extra inches. The weight loss wrap at Body Art in Metairie takes about 2 hours, and costs around $70. Client Rhea Rich says she’s done several wraps in the past, and they’ve helped her lose 2-5 inches each treatment. The results from these detoxifying wraps usually only last a few days to a week or so.

For the look of a Brazilian Blowout at a fraction of the salon price, one of my favorite products of the year is Garnier Fructis’ new Sleek and Shine Blow Dry Perfector. I tried the product this weekend and I love it!
It’s a 2 part system that added about 30-40 minutes to my regular shampooing routine, but it was worth it. It really gave me the look of the Keratin treatment (straight, smooth, frizz-free hair) I had done in a salon, but at a much smaller price tag! The product retails for around $12 at most drugstores, as opposed to the Brazilian or Keratin treatments which can cost hundreds.
The downside: This product promises to only last for 7 shampoos, so it won’t last as long as salon treatments, and the smell is not pleasant (smells a little like rotten eggs!) during the first 20 minute application of the Smooth-It serum. After the 20 minutes, you rinse the product out, apply the next cream, and then blow dry as you normally would (you can’t let the product dry naturally though because it is heat activated from your blow dryer). Allure Magazine voted this product one of their favorite beauty buys of the year, and I can definitely see why!
And finally, if you overindulged a bit too much at the office Christmas party, makeup artist Celeste Louapre loves an oxygen mask to help rehydrate the skin and reduce redness. She also love the pink color corrector by Simone for just $8 to help cover up dark circles.
