Darth Maul coming to 'Star Wars: The Clone Wars'
Darth Maul will return to the "Star Wars" saga in spring 2012 in new episodes of "Star Wars: The Clone Wars."
It appeared that Jedi Knight Obi-Wan Kenobi killed the sinister red-and-black tattooed Sith Lord at the end of the 1999 film "Star Wars: Episode I: The Phantom Menace." That's the thing with sci-fi, though: You can never be sure if someone is actually dead.
Maul will be back with his double-bladed lightsaber, said Dave Filoni, supervising director of "Star Wars: The Clone Wars." "The decision to continue Darth Maul's story was something that came directly from George [Lucas]," Filoni said in a Lucasfilms release. "We all agreed that his return needed to be unique, unexpected and revenge filled. We don't know what his outcome will be, and as a fan—that's exciting."
