Pictures: Plaquemines Parish Orange Fair & Festival 2010
Huge crowds turned out to the Plaquemines Parish Orange Fest for its first year back at Fort Jackson since Katrina. The Fest kicked off Saturday morning when Orange Fest and Plaquemines Parish officials cut the ribbon to reopen Fort Jackson. Some of the main events include competitions for oyster shucking, de-heading shrimp, peeling shrimp, ducks calling, and catfish skinning. Citrus and seafood were served just about every way possible, from classic oysters on the half shell to char broiled oysters and bacon wrapped fried shrimp.
